Intermediate rules are generally used by players within Guilds when running raids and instances with (trusted) Guildmates, around the level of the Scarlet Monestary dungeon. Pick-up groups (PuGs) will likely still use the Basic Warcraft Looting Rules because they’re easier rules to use when dealing with strangers and possible loot ninjas. Please note, Dungeon Etiquette information posted in the Basics still very much applies at this level.

If you are in a party with guildmates, clarify the loot rules with your party leader as they may not be the same as listed here.

1. Roll ‘need’ on professions recipes you’ll use on this toon.
2. Roll ‘greed’ on all lockboxes and profession materials (gems etc)
3. Roll ‘need’ on GREEN equipment (BOE or BOP) you’ll use on this toon as an equipment upgrade.
4. Roll ‘greed’ on GREEN BOE equipment for alternate toons, selling, or disenchanting
5. Pass on all BLUE equipment or trinket drops. Loot Leader will lead the discussion about loot distribution and make ultimate decision about who gets the item (based on class, current equipment and guild strengthening).
6. If there is an enchanter in the group, Loot Leader may ask a specific enchanter to disenchant BOPs that nobody will use as equipment, and then the party can /roll on the shard instead

Intermediate looting rules are introduced in the player’s 30’s in terms of level, but if players are all experienced, these rules may be used in lower level dungeons as well.

Experienced players should keep in mind the level of experience of fellow dungeonmates when introducing things such as the pass-to-roll-on-shard rules, however.

This is the end of Part 3 of the Basic Warcraft Looting Rules series. Many party leaders will expect Guilded party members to understand and operate by these rules for any guild group formed.
