Deadmines is a level 16-24 instance nicknamed Van Cleef after the dungeon’s final boss and is generally referred to as “VC” instead of “DM” so as not to confuse itself with Dire Maul, the dungeon for players level 56+.

This dungeon is full of Defias humanoids: Defias Conjurer, Defias Blackguard, Defias Bodyguard, Defias Digger, Defias Evoker, Defias Henchmen, etc, plus a whack of Goblin Engineer types.

You can get Engineering materials for low level Engineer work from boxes that lay around, and from the Goblin Engineers themselves.

This dungeon is a great one to farm if you’re looking for Linen Cloth or Wool Cloth to level up tailoring or just to make some profit. Lots of mobs in this instance ensures you’ll come out with a full inventory of various qualities of equipment.

Patch 2.3 is upgrading old-world dungeon loot and thus this one is getting a major loot overhaul - there’s going to be blues dropping from bosses!
