Freelance Raider or Raid Guild Member?
Okay.
In the hidden annals of this blog, I have written an entry about joys of Freelance Raiding. Only, I feel the need to go over it again and clarify some things before I post it.
Raiding Now -vs- Raiding In 6 Months
Freelance Raiding works awesome right now, but in 6 months the raiding game will be way tougher for everyone in it than it is right now.
The World of Warcraft landscape is about to change with the release of the Wrath of the Lich King Expansion Pack and another 10 levels and re-gearing up to do.
Freelance raiding won't be as easy as it is right now when so many people (including myself) are so well geared.
So, as I'm visiting my parents at a beautiful lake with wonderful flower gardens and green grass and wildlife... I'm pondering my World of Warcraft future.
My Warcraft Future
When there's 10 more levels, most of my friends will WANT to advance through to 80 but few have the time nor energy to do the research required to learn new content quickly. They prefer a more laid-back format of play, which I'll admit is something I enjoy at times too...
But this time, with how much I've learned and how much fun it is to play with skilled players in coordinated fashions, I've decided...
I want to zoom to 80. With a skilled group who are thirsty to take on new content and bash themselves against it and share stories of eventual triumph.
I want to experience it this time while it's new. The last 2 times I didn't do that.
Time To Immerse Myself In Greatness
I've updated my Toon Resumes page for both my Mage and Priest.
I've put together a video resume that has to be uploaded when I get to high speed next and linked to their resumes.
Will I find a great guild? Who knows.

Love the new look, the old one was great too as I'm a stickler for fishing. I play alliance on Cairne, my first ever toon is just about to hit 67. So it seems I won't even get one to 70 before WotLK comes out. But I'm still pumped as once I max one out the whole trickle down economics of toons comes into play. Happy Hunting and I've been enjoying your blog for about 1/2 year now.
A friend of mine who is in a hard-core raid guild says that they are expected to get to Lv 80 as soon as possible, and once the guild has enough players at lv 80, they are going to start raiding.
People who are too slow getting to 80 will either get left out or kicked.
Ouch!
Nice new look by the way.
I love your new layout, you sound a lot like myself I like to learn as much about the game as possible. Still puzzles me why I initially slept on my hunter in WOW.
I also have been thinking about zooming through the content of WOTLK, with at least one of my toons.
This week I've decided to take a mini-vacation. It's a great chance for me to relax, exercise as long as I want, hang out side soaking u the sun rays and I've also decided to spend time leveling my Horde priest. It should be interesting. I rarely get too play as long as I want to but this week I am breaking all the rules; of course, when my daughter arrives home then I'm back to reality, lol.
Ok back to your post, I cannot wait to see how rapidly you advance through the brand-new content. I'm hoping you add a few goodies like videos, pictures, etc. I still need to add videos to my website.
Thanks for thinking this over "out loud." I'm hearing a lot of conflicting reports, and unlike you, my priestie is my only level 70 toon. She's geared (thank you for the links) to do lower level heroics but the guild I joined is supposed to be raiding and isn't... so I'm doing the mind-numbing battlegrounds grinding to try and get somewhat decent armor (thank you for the imba link!!)
I'm also working on finishing leveling my 67 hunter to 70 before the expansion, figuring she can probably be the best at grinding and passing down gear to my priest.
Anyway, just found your blog and am going to read through all the rest of it. Thanks so much for your insights.
Hey there, great to hear from everyone, and I'm glad the links are helpful!
It's a time of unrest in the game right now, but soon it'll be a time of upheaval when the races begin all over again!
The answer to your question on Twitter is that I am both a lurker and a follower...I actually enjoy your site, and I too am a WoW addict. (Alliance side)
