Amphitheatre Quest At Level 75
In Zul'Drak there's an Amphitheatre quest series which is very much like the Ring of Blood series done in the mid-60s in Nagrand (if you could find a group).
If you complete the Ring of Blood series in Nagrand in addition to the Amphitheatre quest chain in Zul'Drak, you'll get an acheivement for it, plus the quest reward which for my Priest was quite a nice one-hand Mace.
Level 75 is the minimum level you need to be in order to start this quest chain, and since my Hunter recently hit level 75, I'm looking at doing this quest chain for myself for the second time.
Tips For Doing The Amphitheatre Chain
The tip that is the most important one in doing this chain is this: Make damned sure everyone in your party has picked up the quest before you start it, and between every round, make sure everyone's had a chance to turn in the previous stage before you start the next.
If everyone's picked up the quest initially and starts up the same, then everyone can turn in the completed first stage, and ONE person can pick up the next stage's quest and everyone else in the group will receive a pop-up window asking them if they'd also like to join in on the same group quest. If one person in your group gets behind, that person will have to start the event in order to catch up, and everyone will have to re-kill a mob they had already killed.
Dealing With Competition
The Amphitheatre chain is challenging enough to coordinate with a group of five players without any additional factors, but depending on when you attempt the chain, you might face the problem of Competition.
Competition in this chain makes it so generally, your group has to either back off entirely and wait for the other group to finish, or more likely, repeat boss mob stages as your various members get left behind at one stage or another.
Even same-faction groups can't be counted on to go with the polite route, so if you're stuck having to repeat bosses, just remember that you're getting experience every time you kill those beasts, and experience is the name of the game when you're leveling ;)
Is This "Your" Boss Or "Their" Boss?
During busy times, sometimes your group will have to compete with other groups attempting the same encounter, and it's difficult to tell whether the boss coming into the Amphitheatre belongs to your group's attempt or to the other group's attempt.
The easiest way to tell is to watch for the first shout that comes out from the mob entering the Amphitheatre - all but one or two stages will include a name being shouted out, and if that person isn't in your party, then it's not "your" quest mob.
From there, you can decide if you want to help the other group get done faster, or watch them duke it out themselves!
Rewards For The Amphitheatre Chain
At level 75, these are some sweet rewards. Everyone gets almost 120 in gold, a handful of Runic Healing and Mana Potions, plus a stack of bandages, and then a choice of weapon from one of the following, all of which should be a nice upgrade at this point:
- [Icier Barbed Spear]
- [Screw-Sprung Fixer-Upper]
- [Wodin's Second-Best Shanker]
- [Chilly Slobberknocker]
- [De-Raged Waraxe]
- [Crimson Cranium Crusher]
Now that my Hunter is 75, I'm going to be finding a group for it shortly :)

I picked up this quest last night in the sewars and im level 80 and have been for a bit now haha.
I had never seen it or heard about till last night.
Gonna grab some guildies to get it done tonight though.
I /love/ this event. Adore this event. Absolutely /fabulous/ event. The beasties are gloriously fun, quirky and silly and.. just. Hee.
I have one tip for everyone who does it, without (hopefuly) spoiling anything: the mammoth is a vehicle.
Trumps Ring of Blood in every way, it does. :)
Grimm
I enjoyed doing both on my priest. I'm still not sure which will do it first my Hunter or my Druid.
