Sneeeeeaaaaaky Blizzzardzes (AKA: New Minor Glyphs Available)
I religiously read the patch notes that Blizzard releases, but admit to being too lazy to hunt out the more updated versions of Patch Notes that external groups from Blizzard itself put together, which are probably much more detailed, and catch these little things.
So, I didn't notice when Blizzard got all sneaky and introduced some new Minor Glyphs after I had stopped discovering Minors in my daily research back in December.
Inscriptionist Daily Duties
My Inscriptionist logs in daily to complete the Northrend Inscription Research, and every new Glyph I discover, I create 10 of and send to an Auction House to be sold. It's amazing how much variation in sales prices there are between all the Glyphs I sell - some are quite profitable while others are complete duds!
Now I guess I need to make sure my stocks are in place for both the Northrend Inscription Research and the old Minor Inscription Research that I stopped doing so long ago.
I stopped by the Auction House and bought 20 or so stacks of Peacebloom for 1g a piece (overpriced, sure, but at this point I'm happy spreading a little wealth), and milled it all, and then set up my Reagent Restocker to help keep my stocks auto-stocked from both the bank and the vendors I visit.
Today's new Minor Glyph: Typhoon. Removes the knockback effect while increasing some other effectiveness by 8%.
Tomorrow's, who knows - but I'll keep the post I linked to above updated with the ones I discover :)

"Today’s new Minor Glyph: Typhoon. Removes the knockback effect while increasing some other effectiveness by 8%. My Shammy is far from this level, so I just smiled at the new discovery and rifled off 10 to put up for sale."
Typhoon isn't a shaman ability, it is a balance druid ability. :)
Can the major glyphs be used in the minor spots? I never seem to find minor glyphs for sale in the auction house. Though I haven't pulled up your list while I'm browsing, which I should probably do.
My misses DK is an enscriber and she says its the most gold she has made from any profession ever.
If I had only known, this past weekendd I dropped skinning on Lomasi and picked up herbalism. I didn't do too much over the weekend but when I was online I was leveling Herbalism. Naturally I picked a lot of Peacebloom and other herbs. I sold a few stacks late last evening. You're right they were high. Insane!
Yesterday, I dropped skinning on Holiterra and now she is an Alchemist. I leveled her to 435.
So true, after every patch it's worth checking to see if they've snuck some new ones in. If I remember correctly, though, there were only 4 new minors introduced.
Good info, thanks. Prices are so wacky on my server for glyphs, one person always seems to throw off the whole market. Actually, I really think Blizzard needs to account for people who don't understand financial systems screwing up the AH, some days I can sell a Major for 10g other days I can't even sell a good Minor for 1g.
I don't know much about inscription, but I have heard some players who have this profession talk about whether they should make cards for the Nobles deck. The question is whether or not these mats are too expensive to warrant making these cards, since the cards you end up making are pretty much random. Have you tried anything like this?
LOL oops. I think I was thinking Thunderstorm when it said 'knock-back' - but who knows, my Shaman doesn't have that skill yet and I didn't click well with Druid.
Thanks for the correction!!
No unfortunately, you can only put Minor Glyphs in minor spots, and Major Glyphs in major spots.
And you can't put two of the same glyph in two spots, they don't stack :(
@Erik: there are four decks that can be made by the Darkmoon Card of the North ability. As far as I can tell the card you get is random, so you have a chance of making any one of 32 cards each time you use the ability. The materials can be expensive, but if you luck out the Nobles can sell really well (at least on Scarlet Crusade), followed closely by the Prisms. The other two decks less so in my experience. If you have time to farm, a hour or so in the Sholazar Basin can get you enough herbs to make a couple Darkmoon cards (I wrote about this in my blog, http://treerex.blogspot.com/2009/01/farming-inscriptionista.html).
I made enough gold selling Darkmoon cards (mostly Nobles, but some of the others too) and glyphs to buy a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth. So Inscription *can* be lucrative, if you are lucky and your server isn't too saturated.
I've made some mad cash off of the new Darkmoon Faire cards, but it uses a lot of Snowfall Ink so it's not something I do regularly since I don't have an active Herbalist, and I've turned to leveraging my earnings to buy my herbs these days instead.
But yah, I sold one card for 1800g once, that sure was nice :)
HEy I loove your site ! It's great to see another female gamer :)
I've been playing since 05 or 06 as well. xx
O.o So glad I read this. I also stopped doing my minor research awhile back when I had gotten all the minor glyphs.
I knew that there were going to be new glyphs in 3.1, but I didn't know they had put some new ones in already.
Guess its time to pick it up for the next few days huh!
I've been an Inscriptionist since the day it was made available to players and have kept up on the new glyphs pretty strongly.
I finally ran out of new inscriptions that I can make two days ago, so I'll be able to tell after each patch whether or not we have new ones.
I have made a 4,000g at the least from inscription. I also have people who regularly bring me mats to mill and then turn into the Darkmoon cards. On average, they spend about 800g on mats and then have me turn them into the cards 5-6 at a time. I have never had less than 2 nobles cards from a batch that size and had one batch of 6 give me 4 Nobles (two were the same card). The guy hit me up every night for a week doing the same thing and he spent about 5k gold all together on the mats and got back over 14k in profit.
The random rolls were obviously with me/him those nights, but I could easily imagine spending the same amount of mats for virtually no profit at all. You never know how the virtual dice are going to roll.
I haven't put my own mats on the line for the cards because of how expensive they are, but if I hadn't already dropped herbalism I would be all over it as the Nobles cards sell on Blackwing Lair for 1900 - 2400 gold.
