Re-activating your WoW account, or interested in "Trying Before You Buy"?WTF? Suspended On Twitter
Oh joy. For some reason, my @WoWGrrl account on Twitter got flagged as being inappropriate, and it's recently been suspended.
Considering that I actually use that account for, um, well, CONVERSATION and tweeting out of things like new blog posts and new Flickr picture uploads and new YouTube video uploads, I'm really quite curious as to why my account was flagged.
You see, there are plenty of people who follow me in an attempt to get an auto-follow back so they can spam the fuck out of me with whatever they're flooding their tweets list with, and when I check those accounts, they're still alive and kicking and not suspended at all.
My brother also had a MMO playing account suspended recently, and had to appeal the suspension similar to how I am doing it now... another gamer account that was used to discuss gaming things with other gamers, tweet out about new posts and new videos uploaded to YouTube and the likes... and it was suspended (and then re-activated after a human reviewed it and saw that yes, indeed it was used as Twitter was designed to be used).
WTF is this all about?
Am I the only one in our little social group who got nailed here?
Did someone get mad that I was watching The Incredible Hulk, Season One and when I "should be" playing World of Warcraft or writing in my blog? (not meant to be a dig @Man! I respect that you told me you were bored and needed some blogular entertainment!)
Of course, since normally I tweet out about my new posts to get some of my regulars to respond, it may take my account being re-activated before you'll even answer my question!

Twitter might have viewed that as spamming depending how often you linked to other sources. Perhaps a few reported it as spam, who knows? I have heard of a few people getting their account suspended for doing the same thing. I'm not sure if they got theres restored.
I haven't used Twitter in a while, lots of spamming going on. Additionally I did not much to tweet about in the small amount of space, didn't always want to link to an outside source, so I haven't been on in a while. ;)

Well, Twitter is fun as heck once you get used to conversing in 140 chars.
It's also an awesome source of answers and information when you don't have time to comb forums to find minute details.
Whatever the suspension was for, I'm confident it will be unsuspended soon, because it was being used as designed.

I really hate to hear that. I use Twitter for the same thing you do, and I always like seeing your tweets. I use it to get new readers to my blog as well as converse with a community I've fallen away from since blogs took over the role that forum communities once had for me.
I really do hope that your account gets reinstated soon.

Same thing happened to me at the very beginning of my Twitter experience. I contacted Twitter - told them I didn't do anything and the account was reinstalled. I think it was a complaint by an agitator and Twitter moves so quickly they did it without checking.
There is a virus going around on Twitter. They're suspending accounts sending it out. Maybe yours was one. Ask them why. They reinstate accounts all the time when they make mistakes.
It may have been a mistake. Twitter accidentally suspended a lot of accounts for no reason this past week...google it.

I was suspended and then after I sent an email asking what the heck was going on, it was reinstated the next day!
I send messages out from a personal and business standpoint, but I too get flooded with SPAM from followers! If they suspended all the SPAMMERS, then I would think the population of twitter would decrease by about 80%
@dee Yeah I heard about that recent Twitter virus, but from my understanding it's like most viruses - aimed at PC users, not Mac users like me.
I did, however, use an online service very recently to try to find people who were following me but I wasn't following, and vice versa, to round up my list of World of Warcraft tweeters that I follow - who knows if that was it or not, or if I just fell into some mathematical equation about tweet patterns and ratio of followers vs followed.
It's been 24 hours now, so we'll see how it goes. I've tried to provide helpful information in the support ticket, and I trust I'll get helpful information back.
It's good to know they admit when they make mistakes and correct it.
I think a more detailed AUP is due and possibly some 'twittiquette' so everyone knows what's ok and what's not.

It was possibly that. Twitter are very aggressive towards anyone they think is accruing followers to quickly or doing anything strange. Kinda silly, I know.

I got suspended too. I got mad and posted on my Twitter about how the Authentication server was done and ranted a bit. O-o;

I too got my Twitter account suspended for an unknown reason yesterday. I opened a ticket to see what's wrong. Let's see when I get a reply from them.

I too was suspended. I am disabled and have published my Memoir and also artist work. I was attempting to filter through and erase the thugs and whores from my account and got suspended because I deleted and search too much in too short of a time. OK, I got that I understand how that could be seen as suspicious, BUT ITS NOT!!!!!!!!!
I have sent two seperate Support ID and neither one has been resolved or addressed. In fact one was closed right after I opened it. Too date, the Twitter account Normajeansun has not come back online and this has a direct impacrt on my ability to support and move past my current limitations of my book exposure. Since I am honest, not a liar, thug or whore who wants to show you something; You would think the staff at Twitter could easily see that Im just a simple guy attempting to improve my life.
I had 800 plus followers and my website and traffic has almost dropped off since Twitter did this. I wonder if you can Sue them for Defimation or Slander or directly impacting my ability to survive? Since I am disabled and my hope at additional income comes directly from my artwork and book, I wonder if this can get turned back on soon? I just want my account up, thats all.

In that, please show me a Twitter Safe way of getting rid of the Ecrooks and Scammers in a way that Twits Software wont freak out over the amount of traffic. I had over 150 tweets that contained quotes and excerpts from my Memoir, Norma Jean's Sun. I have no way of getting those back in the thought and order that I worked so Hard at putting place. I had artists, singers, Book Stores, Publishers and Media channels following Me! I was actually having a success at talking/tweeting with my followers and then POOF, Gone because I tried to get rid of the FOOLS that steal my time and energy. Hmmm is Twitting just for fools, liars, thugs and whores???
Oh, by the way I opened another account under my name, kriscourtney and I instantly got 23 Whores and Ecrooks following me. I feel so loved... Thanks Twits
I’m frustrated
Oh, do I hear you Kris! I've tried not to think about it, although I check every couple of days to see whether I even got any feedback to my queries.
All I'm asking for is information on what I was supposedly doing wrong, so I can correct it, and it's now been nearly a month.
It's a little difficult to WANT to use the system correctly when one is using it correctly, gets suspended and then is left for so long with no explanation - while all these other spammer accounts lay untouched.
Kinda like when I was 18 and a boyfriend called me a whore during a board game out of anger (and thoughtlessness) - I told him if he thought I was a whore, I could show him a whore. After the game pieces flew into the air that is.
Mine was re-activated last night. The support ticket is still open and I haven't received any reason for the suspension, but my account is working again.
I did changed my password yesterday afternoon, in case that my account was compromised in some way, to avoid this scenario I changed it. Don't know if that had something to do with the re-activation.

Still hoping and waiting on mine, although I notice I've been put to 0 followers and 0 followed, so now all I get is the name back, despite the fact that I was up to 900+ followers and about as many followed.
I guess we get what we pay for, and that's a big reason why I'm not thinking about it much.
PS: I changed my password to see if that helps :)
When my account was suspended I also lost my followers and following. But when re-activated I got them back as normal.

I do not understand how a "free" social page can talk about equal fair play and then allow the foolish stuff to go on the way it does? My new account, "kriscourtney" so far is doing fine. However I have not kicked any whores or crooks out yet either. Wonder if I can get suspended twice for choosing not to associate with people who are less than honest - Ooops, that was against the rules again, shame on me....
