It looks like the Dark Iron Dwarves are going to be terribly successful at destroying the Brewfest Kegs - over and over and over!
And nobody is going to be able to stop them - NOT EVEN THE DRUNKEN MASTER!
Chug And Chuck Not Working?
Last night I tried to do the Chug and Chuck quest on my 59 Pally but was not successful at pegging off the little robot guy behind the tent.
No matter if I stood close or stood far away, I couldn't hit him. I noticed others trying the quest as well, but didn't ask how they fared.
I assumed it was just because I was level 59, 21 levels away from max, and maybe my dexterity wasn't good enough or something, so eventually I gave up.
This morning I log in to do the daily Ram Racing and Barker quests for my allotment of tokens, and when I finish the Barker quest the Dark Iron Invasion is just beginning, so I join in.
Chug And Chuck Integral Part Of Fending Off Dwarves
I pick up my Complimentary Brewfest Sampler and since I have it hot-keyed for quick use, I fire it off.
I miss the first guy by a short margin and think I must have chucked just before he spawned, and therefore the chuck didn't know about him early enough to hit him.
I miss the second guy. And the third. And the guy that's sitting there drinking from the Brewfest Keg already.
No matter if I'm near or far, I can't bonk anyone on the head with my mug.
Short Dark Iron Dwarf Invasion
Thankfully, the Dark Iron Invasion is incredibly short if not defended against at all. And with our inability to chuck mugs at the dwarves and have them make contact, we weren't able to defend.
A few of us tried really hard, and I wondered why that Drunken Master effect didn't help at all when I got the buff...
Zero injured in the last invasion, despite at least five of us trying desperately to defend the beer.
Kinda sad.

Funny, I was just wondering this morning if it was possible to NOT succeed at fending off the Dark Irons. We had a fairly small crowd this morning, and it seemed Dark Irons were getting knocked down without anyone hitting them at all.
Of course, my screen was getting kind of fuzzy, but I really didn't see anything hitting them.
@Jeffo - ah good to know that it's not game-wide. It is slowing down my progression towards Brewmaster, tho! Bah ;)
I had no trouble with it the night before last. (Maybe the patch broke it?)
I took out the Chug and Chuck robot, and then when the Dwarves arrived I started hitting them as well. I wasn't sure why I kept getting resupplied with mugs, but I kept throwing them anyway. It took me a little bit to figure out the "super mug powerup," i.e. Drunken Master, and that I could actually move under it's effect and whirlwind the dwarves down. It was carnage. I'm not sure if you get 10 tokens for doing nothing, or if there's some better reward for killing a lot more of the dwarves.
It's amusing. I then grabbed my green mug and called it a night.

Tricky robot is tricky! Seems Blizzard didn't test this patch quite as well as they should've.
They accidently added an ENTIRE av bracket (70-79) this patch that made many lowbies who liked leveling through AV very mad.
However it was a largely requested feature. Not many 80's like seeing so many lowbies fighting with / against them.

Actually, this version of Brewfest is the most bug-LESS version I've seen.
Previous years have had the Invasion shut off entirely due to bugs that allowed griefing, and at least one of the other daily quests didn't work properly either (the barker one for sure, not sure about ram racing) and that seriously restricted people from gathering tokens.
These bugs never seem to get fully fixed the same season, but next season when the event comes up again, it's improved. But never perfect, as it often is with complex code :)
