The stars aligned the other night, and three of us were able to hit BRD and advance two of us quite a bit.
A guy I met when he was level 9 and still on a trial account (a year and a half ago or so) now has a couple of 70s and a few toons between the 30-50 range as well, and we’ve been exchanging dungeon runs for a long time.
Recently, his 47 Warlock joined us on a recent Sunken Temple run where, due to lack within our party at crunch time, I had to hop from my 54 Mage over to my 70 Hunter to help the party defeat Jammal - thus missing the opportunity to complete the quest myself. So, last night he offered to take us with his 70 Hunter through Sunken Temple again, to get that part done for my Mage.
There was a level 52 Holy Paladin on in our guild at the time, so I negotiated a Blackrock Depths run instead, and the three of us headed in.
First Round Of Quests
Paladin and myself had already talked about picking up the quests for BRD, since that was the next dungeon we’d logically get a fair chunk of experience from in our quest to get out of Azeroth and into the Outlands with these toons. So, when the call came, we were ready, already!
Well, at least we thought we were. We missed a few quests over in Burning Steppes that I’ve now picked up for our second round.
But, we were able to accomplish the following quests in our 3 or so hours in BRD:
The Lost Thunderbrew Recipe
Disharmony of Flame
Dark Iron Legacy
KILL ON SIGHT: Dark Iron Dwarves
Bosses, Loots, and Wands
We killed a number of bosses and got some nice drops for both the Paladin and myself - I picked up a nice shoulder piece early on (Kentic Amice from High Interrogator Gerstahn) but then replaced it further in the run with a +frost bonus one which is great for my Ice Mage - Boreal Mantle from Warder Stilgiss - and also picked up two different types of damage in wands: Wand of Eternal Light from the bank Vault, and Pyric Caduceus from Pyromancer Loregrain. I even won the Wayfarer's Knapsack that Ribbly Screwspigot dropped in the bar.
The Paladin picked up a couple things (Emberplate Armguards of the Bear was one, for sure, that I see on his armory profile now - other things he got he probably can’t wear quite yet at 52) and we sharded a couple leather and mail blues along the way as well, so I walked out with a Large Brilliant Shard to add to my wee collection.
That run brought me fully 2/3’s the way through level 55 - I had JUST hit 55 when we entered the dungeon and by the time I turned in all the quests and picked up the next round of ‘em, I was 3.5 bubbles away from 56.
Next Round Of Quests
So now, after a bit of running around and finishing off some easy quests I’ve now got a whole bunch more lined up for next run in:
Commander Gor’lash
Ribbly Screwspigot (missed the first time)
KILL ON SIGHT: High Ranking Dark Iron Officials
The Last Element
The Heart Of The Mountain
Disharmony Of Fire (killing Lord Incendius this time)
A Taste Of Flame
One quest I have to do more work for before I turn it in at The Grim Guzzler bar in BRD is The Love Potion - I’ll have to party up with my Paladin friend to gather those Giant Silver Veins in Ashzara. Getting that quest done makes it easy as pie to get past the bar and out the back door, so I think it’s well worth the efforts.
Very soon I will be in Outlands with this toon (on an epic land mount of course), blasting the heck out of everything!
