Wee Healer Druid Gets Kitty Form
Since I’ve already got a couple of max-level DPS characters under my belt-and a level 61 Warrior I’m still too nervous to unleash on unsuspecting PUGs as a tank – I decided to roll yet another new toon. This time, once again, with the clear intention of becoming a dungeon-focused healer.
I do already have a Holy-specced Priest sitting at level 38, and I’ve healed a few RFD PUGs with her, but I felt like shaking things up and testing out a different healing flavour. So I went ahead and rolled both a Druid and a Shaman, fully intending to march each of them down the Restoration talent path.
Up to this point, the Druid has been getting most of my attention. I’ve pushed her past the Ragefire Chasm stage and into the classic WC/SFK/BFD rotation (that’s Wailing Caverns, Shadowfang Keep, and Blackfathom Deeps), picking up a real mix of PUG experiences along the way. From level 13 right through to 23, nearly all my experience has come from inside instances, with just enough questing done outside to grab the next batch of dungeon quests.
Not long ago, while heading into a Wailing Caverns run with a Feral-specced Druid I’d grouped with in an earlier PUG, I finally got the chance to mess around with kitty form. As we ran to the instance to meet the rest of the group-who were already inside, I took the opportunity to see what all the feline fuss was about.
I definitely need a bit more practice with kitty-form combat, but since my long-term plan is to stay Restoration, I don’t expect to spend much time prowling around as a cat anyway.
Druid Kitty Dance Is… Terrible.
Druid Kitty Dance Is Terrible.
After the run wrapped up, I flipped back into kitty form and did what any sensible player would do: typed /dance to see what kind of moves my feline alter ego had.
What I got was crushing disappointment. Instead of a proper dance, my kitty plonked itself down and slowly bobbed its head from side to side while lazily waving a paw, looking less like a dancer and more like an orchestra conductor keeping time.
Is that really it? Is that the entire dance?! 🙁
Druid Kitty Has a Few Surprises
While there are plenty of things Druid Kitty can’t do thanks to being shape-shifted, there are also a few handy things she can still manage, which actually makes life a little easier for the person behind the fur.
So yeah-this probably isn’t shocking news to most of you, but it’s been a long time since I played a Druid seriously, and I’m clearly rediscovering things the hard way. 🙂
